Wedding Vows

Wedding vows are a very personal matter for every couple which is why you should take your time when deciding what you want to say.

The wedding vows are one of the most important part of the wedding as after the recital of your vows you will official be married which is why you should not be influenced by what other people think you should say.

More people are becoming creative with their wedding vows and this can add a very personal touch and reflect what you both believe your future marriage means to you.

The typical wedding vows are read like this “I [your name] take you [your partners name] for my lawful [wife/husband] to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part”

You could use these as the basis for your personal wedding vows and add your own personalized touches where you feel you would like them.

Some couples find the traditional vows a little too formal and that the wording doesn’t give the true meaning of how they care about each other.

The wedding vows are probably more personal than any other part of the wedding ceremony and due to this it is well worth spending as much time as you can to make sure you come up with something that is special to you both.

You could get ideas from books or songs that mean something to you and should discuss ideas with your partner until you have the ideal wording for you both.
