Wedding Invitation Wording

many people seem to have a mental block when it comes to the wedding invitation wording and simply don’t know what to write.

When deciding the wording for your wedding invitations you should think about writing them as if you were talking to the people you are going to invite even if your actual wedding day is going to be very formal.

When it comes down to it, you are going to be inviting your closest friends and family and there is nothing better than adding your own personality when inviting them to your special day.

Use words that you would like to have on an invitation that is being sent to you or words that would make you feel special about being invited to someone else’s wedding. Keep the wording light and happy to make people feel as excited about the day as you are.

Bounce ideas off your partner and make a list of words or phrases you like the most, this will be a lot easier than sitting down and trying to write them on your own.

If you are the sort of person who is know as a bit of a joker then why not add a little humor to your invitation to make people smile when they read it.

There are no real guidelines when it comes to your wedding day and your wedding invitations are no different, they are your invitations and you can word them exactly how you like.

Once you have decided upon your wedding invitation wording, put them away for a while and go back to them after a week or so to see if you are still happy with how they sound. Quite often a reread can make you change your mind and you may find other more suitable words suddenly become apparent to you.

By preparing your wedding invitations well ahead of time you will have more opportunity to make changes to the wording before you are ready to send them out.
